The Passing of James Carroll

Thu Apr 28, 2016 4:19 pm

We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of the wonderful James Carroll yesterday. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. James, who played Max Sutton in Sullivan Entertainment's Wind At My Back, brought so much to everything he did and we know that he will be greatly missed, but that his legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. Here is a link to a wonderful article about him and his passing: http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canad ... dies-at-60

A fund for his young Daughter has been started and can be found here:https://www.gofundme.com/qzex8wdc

To see more about James Carroll's time on Wind At My Back, visit the Wind At My Back Website (there is behind the scenes info, charcacter bios etc) http://windatmy-back.com/

I'm really sad to hear that. He was such a great part of "Wind at My Back", and he was gone too soon. I would have loved to see him as Max again in a reunion movie. :(

It is so sad that actor James Carroll has died so young. He was my favorite character on "Wind At My Back".

Here are a couple of articles on James Carroll's death from his hometown paper. The comment quoted from the James Carroll Fund in the first article is mine.

I haven't been on this site for a while, but that's very sad news. :( He was a wonderful actor on "Wind At My Back".

Years ago when the show first started, I remember catching a glimpse of James Carroll walking on the platform in one of Toronto's subway stations during rush hour. I knew it was him because of his distinct features and we even made eye contact.

I don't know if you saw this, but the Sullivan Blog posted a link to a touching tribute written by one of the assistant directors on"Wind at My Back" about James Carroll, and some of his old colleagues commented on their memories of him.

Thanks for the link HistoryMiner. From reading the post, I can tell that he was well loved by a lot of his peers and fellow cast members from WAMB. It was a nice surprise to see that actress Cynthia Belliveau posted comments as well. I didn't know she had undergone treatment for cancer herself.

It's sad that he passed away so young. My condolences to his family and friends.
