New "Anne" Series on CBC and Netflix

Sun Dec 04, 2016 9:35 pm

There has been a few articles about the new "Anne" series which is filming right now. The first season has 8 episodes. ... -1.3814651 ... 201858311/

"I feel that this Anne is entirely different," says Walley-Beckett. "We're off-book. We're the essence of the book, we have the heart and soul of the book, we have our iconic moments that everyone can't wait for, and we're telling a new story. I think that is one reason why it's entirely its own."

'It's not doilies and teacups, it's life'

"This is a very grounded, real version of the story. Life in Prince Edward Island in the late 1800s was a hard, gritty, scrappy life. It was messy, it was covered in red mud," says Walley-Beckett.

"The weather, the seasons, it's all part of our story. It's not doilies and teacups, it's life."

What do you think about this approach?

So far, two characters who will have more of a role than in the book are:

1. Jerry Baynard - hired farmhand

2. Billy Andrews - he will play a bully at school

I think it's great that there will be new characters like the farm boy. The actor who plays Jerry is so adorable!!! I just can't wait!!! Can we know more about this young actor?

I would like to see it as well. I hope eventually it is widely distributed.
