Charlie Kilworth (Christian Campbell) is a handsome singer in a blues band in the 1930s, who avoids romantic relationships out of fear that he may pass on the hereditary madness that runs in his family... that is until he begins to uncover his Irish roots and the reality behind how his mother (Stockard Channing) became a beautiful, mercurial visionary.
